MANSFIELD, OH - In celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day nationwide, Primrose Retirement Community spent Friday morning dispersing gift cards and hand-made presents to unsuspecting students of Ashland University's Dwight Schar College of Nursing & Health Sciences.

Beginning at 11:30 AM, residents surprised students of the college by presenting them with gifts such as hand-knitted hats, scarves, and gift cards for online shopping. Students took pictures with the Primrose Residents and thanked them for their generosity. 2019 marks the third year that Primrose has participated in Random Acts of Kindness Day - which Sales Director Nikki Gilham says will continue as long as the company can continue to make it happen.

"I'm noticing the students are loving these hats," Gilham said. "I think that they know that these are made with love by these residents and that they've put a lot of work into it."

Not only did the day give Primrose Residents an activity to work on throughout the year, but the event also made it possible for nursing students to speak to Primrose residents and staff so they could possibly look for work at the retirement community.

"I will say we did choose Ashland College of Nursing this year because we are a medical facility at Primrose Retirement Community," Gilham noted. "We thought this would be a good way to get our name out there and let the students know that we are somewhere they can come once they graduate from college."
