MANSFIELD, OH - The Little Buckeye Children's Museum has opened up another creative hands-on exhibit for its young visitors, this one a collaboration between Little Buckeye and the Mansfield Art Center.

"The exhibit started as a brainstorm with myself and Fred Boll, the Executive Director of Little Buckeye Museum," said Susan Gentille, Marketing and Development Director of the Mansfield Art Center. "Because we are the Mansfield Art Center and we love having kids at the Mansfield Art Center it was a perfect fit."

The idea is simple: a wall full of empty frames waiting to be filled with artwork, with an endless supply of paper that can be pulled down and torn away when the children's masterpieces are finished. Kids can turn in their artwork at the front desk for a prize and can have their art hung in one of the many empty frames surrounding the coloring area.

The concept was designed and installed by the Mansfield Art Center's Executive Director, George Whitten.

"Kids love to draw, and at the young ages the creativity is still in them," Gentille said. "They don't care if a bunny is purple or if the sky is green and the trees or blue, they have that creativity and it's really fun that they have that opportunity here... we're hoping that some of these people become future artists that we'll show at the Mansfield Art Center."

The opening of the exhibit was celebrated with a ribbon cutting on Thursday afternoon, where members of the community gathered to see Little Buckeye's newest big idea- and maybe even inspire some young new artists.
