Mansfield Shooting Suspect Turns Himself In Thursday

MANSFIELD, OH - The Mansfield Division of Police has announced that a shooting suspect has turned himself in Thursday morning. 

According to the Mansfield Division of Police, 28-Year-Old Lakeeron A. Lane turned himself in at 5:00 AM Thursday morning to the Richland County Jail. 

Lane was wanted for a shooting that occurred in the area of 92 West 2nd Street Tuesday morning. 

The shooting occurred at 10:52 AM. Upon arriving at the scene Mansfield Police discovered the victim, 41-year-old Brian Webber, suffering from a gunshot wound a short distance away. Webber was transported to a hospital for treatment.

According to a release provided by the Mansfield Division of Police the suspect fled prior to officer arrival in a dark, possibly black, newer sedan. Major Crimes Detectives responded to the scene and assumed investigation into the shooting.

A Felonious Assault warrant was then issued for Lane.
