Ashland Honors Law Enforcement Members In Memorial Ceremony

ASHLAND, OH - The Ashland community gathered at Calvary Baptist Church to honor the lives of fallen officers across the State of Ohio on Tuesday, dedicating the program to the memory of six Ashland officers. The six officers that were listed include Lieutenant John Gliscon, Detective Sergeant Glenn Sturgill, Trooper James Gross, Ranger James Pitney, Deputy Jacob Helbert, and Constable William H. Kelly.

"We appreciate the people that support us day in and day out," said Chief Deputy Carl Richert of the Ashland County Sheriff's Office.

During the memorial, several key law enforcement figures spoke, including Sheriff E. Wayne Risner, Chief David Marcelli, Ashland County Prosecutor Christopher Tunnell, and Lieutenant Ray Durant.

    The Richland County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday that the Crestview Schools Board of Education and the Sheriff's Office entered into an agreement to provide a full-time school resource officer to the Crestview School District for the 2019- 2020 school year.
