Mansfield Helps Out Local Schools With Recycling Trailer

MANSFIELD, OH- The Richland County Solid Waste Management Authority's S.C.R.A.P. Trailer is helping the people of Mansfield recycle.

The trailer goes around to different local schools throughout the week to pick up recyclable goods.

All of the money from the sale of the recyclable goods then goes back to the schools according to Richard Holmes, Facility Specialist for the Richland County Solid Waste Authority.

"When I take this in the next day, whatever they make off this," Holmes said.  "A check will be cut and taken to that school."

The program supports local schools all while helping the environment.

"You can take all this and melt it down," Holmes said.  "Your tin cans you can melt it down and make something else from it."

Citizens can recycle, #1 plastic bottles, #2 plastic, aluminum cans, metal cans, newspapers, and cardboard at the S.C.R.A.P. Trailer.

The S.C.R.A.P. Trailer is on location from 2-4pm.  The calendar of locations can be found on richlandrecycles.com
