KNOX COUNTY, OH - After three days of searching, the Knox County Sheriff's Office announced Friday that the boy that dissapeared in the Kokosing River is still missing.

On Tuesday June 11th rescue teams responded to a report of a 15 year old boy, Darnal Narayan of Columbus, that disappeared while wading and swimming in the Kokosing River with three other juveniles and an adult. Boat crews and divers from multiple agencies searched for approximately five hours before stopping for the night.

The search for the missing teen resumed Wednesday with K9 Units and additional agencies assisting with search efforts. Crews searched in and around the Kokosing River and Honey Run Park for eleven hours. The search had to be suspended due to darkness.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office stated that the situation will be elevated Thursday morning as rain is forecasted. The rain could impact the safety of search crews.

The area where Darnal was last observed contains a very large tree that is partially submerged. Under water rock formations, crevices, low visibility, and river currents in the area make it a dangerous enviorment for divers, according to the Knox Countys Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office states that continued organized recovery efforts are not planned until further evidence is discovered.

Boats, divers, and K9 Units form Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District, Fredericktown Fire Department, Walhonding Valley Fire District, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Dellroy Community Fire Department, and Christian Aid Ministries Search and Rescue have assisted in the search.
