BUCYRUS, OH - Christmas came early this year for the downtown area in Bucyrus Friday night, during one of the city's "First Friday" events.

Every first Friday through the months of June, July, August, and September, Bucyrus invites the community for a night of shopping, street vendors, music, food and children’s activities, with the theme rotating each month. This month's theme, "Christmas in July," saw several hundred people mingling within the downtown area by enjoying various activities that included an inflatable snow globe, a jigsaw puzzle, and a limbo competition.

Local businesses were spreading holiday cheer in July by offering extended hours and special offers for customers who browsed through their stores, enjoying the cool evening after a hot week.

Attendees could even beat the heat with Mark's Homemade Ice Cream, which was selling special cookie-flavored Christmas ice cream to go with the theme of the evening.

For information about upcoming First Friday events, go to the Bucyrus Ohio website.
