ASHLAND, OHThe tenth annual Hospice of North Central Ohio Community Corn Roast brought the Ashland community together on Saturday evening.

The event is one of the most popular fundraisers for the Ashland based non-profit.  The evening featured smoked meat, corn, live music, and auctions. All of the food at the corn roast was locally grown.

Bill Kahl, Executive Director of Hospice of North Central Ohio, said that the event provides a fun way to reach out into the community.

"This is a chance for us to mingle with the community, meet a lot of families of patients we've served and then raise a few dollars for our agency.

Hospice of North Central Ohio is a nonprofit that serves Ashland, Richland, and Knox County.  Kahl said that the Ashland community is one of the most supportive he has every worked in.

"We are so thankful for this community," Kahl said.  "I've been in hospice for 25 years and this is the most generous community I've ever worked with .  We want to thank everybody that's involved with hospice and we're just so pleased and honored to serve the families in this community.
